Schedule of Events

Friday, October 29

7:00–9:00 p.m. Opening Ceremonies

Free and open to the public, the ceremonies will include a brief history of Hayes Barton’s creation in 1920 as well as a look back at the Colony Theatre, established in 1942, which later became the Rialto. Created especially for the Centennial will be a cinematic presentation “The Best of the Academy Awards 1920-2021” previewing Best Picture Oscar winners throughout history. The Academy Awards only began in 1929, so Hayes Barton is actually older. Concessions will be open. Masks and social distancing in effect.
